Even with all of the healthy hair gurus out there, let’s face it – sometimes we are just too busy to play with our hair the way that we may want to. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t have to care for our hair at all. So what’s a girl to do? If you have a busy workload, but still want to make the proper time to care for your tresses, below are three tips!
Designate a Wash Day
Simply picking a day and naming it ‘wash day’ can make your life sooo much easier. When you don’t have a specific routine, it may be stressful trying to remember the last day you washed your hair (or is that just me?). This way, you know exactly when wash day fits into your schedule, and there won’t be any surprises.
Whichever day you choose will be the day your hair gets the full treatment – shampoo, condition, deep condition, etc. Most ladies decide to designate either Saturday or Sunday to wash day. Depending on how long your regimen takes, pick a day that works for you. This idea also works if you wash more than once a week.
Try Low Maintenance or Protective Styles
Braid outs, twist outs, bantu knots every day? Some of us #aintgottimeforthat! If you don’t have the time to experiment with new styles every day, choose one that you don’t have to worry about. Buns and updos are always easy to do. You could also try a long term protective style like braids, twists, weaves, etc. This way, you can just get up and go in the morning, without worrying about what you should do to your hair.
Preserve Hair at Night
The best way to make sure your hair will look great for as long as possible is to keep it preserved at night. By keeping your hair preserved well at night, whatever styles you choose will last longer and look neater. There are a few options that you can use at night to preserve your hair:
- Satin Pillowcase
- Satin Bonnet
- Silk Scarf
- Pineapple (gathering your hair at the top of your head)
Choose the one that’s easiest for you. For example, if you just want to hop into bed, invest in a satin pillowcase; if you have longer hair with looser curls, the pineapple may be for you.
